Personnel

Trusting our employees to handle any job

Trusting our employees to handle any job

Among the four resources of management, namely “People”, “Products”, “Money” and “Information”, we place the greatest importance at SIV on “People” as the most basic and valuable resource. Regardless of how rich your financial resources, or if you have the most excellent state-of-the-art equipment, and no matter how fast you can obtain valuable information, at SIV we understand that the true value of all of these depends on your personnel. You cannot use personnel effectively if you don’t know who is working or what they are doing, making the other three management resources meaningless.
For this reason, we do not consider our employees, including temporary employees, simply as inexpensive labor but rather we feel that by placing our maximum trust in them, allowing them to think for themselves, invent their own innovative solutions, take responsibility for their work, and then evaluating them in a fair manner, they become “living management resources”.
Sansei Industry Vietnam strongly believes that the maximum driving force for our company is created by the great vitality and virtuous circle enabled by the creation of relationships of trust and mutual consideration between management and employees, and between individual employees.

At SIV, an employee is not permitted to talk to a superior without first preparing his or her own answer. We thoroughly instruct our employees to “Think it. Do it.” While performing their work, and by clearly indicating the assignment of authorities and responsibilities, even here in Vietnam, our local staff can achieve factory operations with a management standard that compares favorably to that of the Japanese manufacturing industry.
While advancing localization in this manner, we can also satisfy the various needs and requests of our customers in the best conceivable manner and continue building a relationship of trust with them – our ultimate goal at SIV.

Our Principles of Positive Action

1
Think of how to accomplish something before thinking of a reason or excuse
why it cannot be done.
2
Never give up work that you have already started on and always see it through
to the end.
The experience you gain and challenges you overcome will serve you to adapt
to great changes and difficulties yet to come.
3
Do not be unwilling to use your own knowledge skills, and experience.
Do not only teach co-workers and subordinates as a means to improve the level
within the group and the entire organization, but also use the results as a means
for improving your own self-evaluation.

Started working at SIV in June 2011
Chief Engineer, Manufacturing Technology Sect.

Although I worked before at a local Vietnamese machining company leading a group of five employees, the reason I gave that position up to come work for SIV is that I wanted to gain more experience with and learn about more advanced technology.
I started at SIV as a member of the Manufacturing Sect., and, two years later, I transferred to the Manufacturing Technology Sect.
I am currently in charge of tasks such as process planning for prototypes and new products using AutoCAD, programming, and tooling setup for first off-tool parts, so I am busy everyday dividing my time between the office and the production floor.
Recently, the machining precision required for ordered parts has become even more difficult. However, given SIV’s wide range of machinery, including new ones, and our annual upgrading and expansion of our tools and instruments, this challenge provides us with an excellent chance to improve our skills while applying our own ingenuity and ideas. Since I was promoted to Supervisor in April 2017, I have been concentrating on management of the personnel I am responsible for, and I feel that I am really developing as a professional member of the company.
One great thing about SIV is that the assignment of duties has been clearly defined, but there is also excellent teamwork among members of the same department as well as between departments to make for a smoothly operating well-regulated organization. It is really nice to work where every employee has such great awareness of each other within a truly positive corporate culture.

Started working at SIV in June 2011
Assistant Manager, Quality Control Sect.

I started working at Sansei Industry Vietnam as a member of the QC staff three months after the company started operations. Currently I am responsible not only for instructing and managing a staff of ten persons but also for creating QC process charts, receiving customers when they come to inspect our factory, checking on quality issues with our Tokyo Head Office, and related tasks.
Sansei Industry Vietnam deals with a large amount of parts numbers, with nearly all of them being medium-volume production parts, such that managing all of them can be very challenging, and detailed instructions and education must be mutually provided between the Inspection Department and the manufacturing factory floor. However, due to the thorough system of coordination between departments, and the guidance and support provided when necessary by the Tokyo Head Office, I feel that we have a work environment that makes it easy to accomplish our work. Additionally, we have great vertical and horizontal human relations, which is one major reason for being able to work so smoothly here.
Moreover, as employees we are well provided with numerous welfare benefits such as health care, retirement bonus, and meals, as well as various other benefits that allow us to work with great peace of mind.
Personally, I feel my job is extremely satisfying because my professional work has been fairly evaluated and appreciated by the company. Also, since entering the company, I committed myself to start studying Japanese and am currently studying to pass N3 of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test.

Started working at SIV in June 2013
Chief Engineer, Facility Maintenance Sect.

I previously worked at a company specializing in machine repair and maintenance for four years where I serviced machine tools for new and used parts. Since I started at Sansei Industry Vietnam as the leader of a department, I had to think for myself and perform management tasks, so I feel I have even more responsibility now. Nonetheless, at SIV we use only high-precision Japanese-made equipment, such that while repairs can be difficult, I feel that I am increasing my skill level over time.
Although I was not used to the machinery for a short while after starting to work here, and I would often have to request help from the manufacturer or representative when there was a problem, I was gradually able to gain experience such that now I don’t have to call the manufacturer right away anymore but rather I am usually able to handle it for myself, and additionally, I really feel that my speed, assuredness, and accuracy have all improved. Moreover, I am not only responsible for production inside the factory but I also periodically perform maintenance, inspection, and servicing of all equipment and facilities on the factory grounds together with my subordinates, so I can take pride in becoming knowledgeable about fields where I did not have any prior experience.
One nice thing about working at SIV is that I can make use of my specialization and perform the work I really enjoy. The workplace environment is great and all the departments cooperate well together. In the future, I would like to gain more knowledge about various types of machinery and further improve my technical skills in order to resolve even more problems for myself.

Started working at SIV in Sept. 2013
Sub-Group Leader, Chucker Group II, Manufacturing Sect.

Although I previously worked in sales management for general products, after that I felt that I could be useful to society by making things with my own hands, and so I decided to dive into the manufacturing industry.
Although I changed career by starting at SIV in 2013, I had absolutely no experience with NC machining when I first started. While I believe that being blessed by having great senior personnel guiding me when I started has enabled me to hold a position where I now provide guidance to younger employees, I also feel that having to use my own personal abilities in my job to think about how to prevent any defects from flowing out to the next process, including preventing the creation of defects in the first place, has also enabled me hold such a position.
Currently, we have many new employees, and I must be aware of the weight of my responsibilities in regards to people, quality, and time as I perform my work. Also, in contrast to when I was a worker, I have to take a step back and observe how those under me are working, so I feel that my powers of observation and judgment abilities have also improved.
As Sansei Industry Vietnam uses various types of machinery and tools, as well as producing a wide variety of products, it provides an excellent opportunity to study whatever seems interesting to you and the work environment steadily improves every year. With a great corporate atmosphere and excellent welfare benefits, as well as the high monthly target achievement rate, I can concentrate on working in conditions that are highly satisfactory overall.
